A total of 37 participants from Konkuk University, including three on-campus startups and students from the ‘KU: Super Rookie Global’ and ‘KU Global Startup Frontier’ programs, took part in the ‘CES 2025 Seoul Pavilion’ held in Las Vegas, USA, from January 7 to 10.

Organized by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), CES is the only trade show that showcases the entire tech landscape at one event. This year’s CES 2025 featured over 4,500 companies and attracted more than 141,000 visitors from around the world.

Seoul Business Agency (SBA) opened the ‘Seoul Pavilion’ at Eureka Park, the startup-focused exhibition hall of CES 2025. It was operated as a collaborative space for 16 organizations related to Seoul's entrepreneurial ecosystem and 104 startups based in Seoul.

Three cutting-edge startups from Konkuk University, specializing in AI, bio-health, ESG, mobility, and semiconductors, showcased their technologies at the CES 2025 Seoul Pavilion. These companies included A-Barrister Company, Drone Makers, and Findy.

A-Barristor Company (CEO of A-Barristor Company: Hyun-Jong Chung, Professor of Physics at Konkuk University) develops next-generation bio and optical sensors based on graphene barristor technology. Drone Makers (CEO of Drone Makers: Jin-Pyo Jeon, Smart Vehicle Engineering) is a student-founded company specializing in industrial drones. At CES 2025, the company introduced its AI-integrated drone technology. Findy (CEO of Findy: Woo-Seok Ahn, Department of Computer Science and Engineering) develops AI-driven intelligent document search and management software.

In addition to startup participation, nine students from the ‘KU: Super Rookie Global’ program, a global talent initiative under Konkuk University’s Office of Start-up Support, participated the Seoul Pavilion as student supporters. They provided translation services, assisted with company introductions, and administrative support while being paired with Konkuk University startups, the Seoul Tourism Organization, and Seoul Bio Hub.

Furthermore, 21 students from Konkuk University’s ‘KU Global Startup Frontier’ program also attended CES 2025. Divided into four teams based on their interests in AI, robotics, beauty tech, and mobility, they explored exhibition booths, conducted interviews with exhibitors.

Konkuk University President Won Jong-Pil, along with faculty members from the Office of Start-up Support, the College of Engineering, the College of Veterinary Medicine (Seoul Campus), and the College of Science & Technology, Biomedical and health Sciences, and the Graduate School of Medicine (GLOCAL Campus), also visited CES. They explored cutting-edge technologies and encouraged student entrepreneurs at their exhibition booths.

President Won emphasized, “This was a valuable opportunity for Konkuk University students and startups to enhance global competencies and expand networks on the international stage. We will continue to support our on-campus ventures and students in expanding their global presence and nurturing global talent.”
